While reinstalling my engine, I noticed a broken connector for the Oil Metering Pump.
What is shown in these picture is the female part of the connection. I need to replace the male part but I have no idea what this is called or how to find the name of the part.
The male part of the connection showing in the picture leads to the engine wiring harness.
The part in the picture is the wiring harness. I am not positive, but I think that is for the position sensor. The position sensor can not be bought by itself. you will have to repair the sensor or buy another omp with a good sensor. Then I would recommend replacing the whole thing. It is kind of difficult to get the switch adjusted properly
If you look at the bottom in the 2nd picture, you can see the connector to the OMP is actually still intact (red & yellow wires). The part that connects to this looks like it leads somewhere else.... Unless I'm missing something.
you definately broke it? that sucks. I was able to superglue mine back togther and drive it 5000+ miles before I found a good deal on a omp. Watch threads for people who do rebuilds and can't get the sensor adjusted then buy their used omp for 100 bucks or so.
Mine was shattered and I was able to get it togther. Superglue it then while it's still wet put some baking soda on the glue. it forms crystals and locks the glue up instantly. Then adds grit for strength like rocks in cement.
Sorry to run, but I'm heading to bed. I'm flying out for saudi arabia in the morning. I'll probably be on a lot once i Get there late on the 15th.
