overheating!!!!
hi everyone, its been a while. just wanted to share this and see if anyone had the same problem; my 05rx8auto, overheated and the a/c stopped working (it was in the middle of traffic and 99F weather!) MAZDA is replacing radiator and thermstat next week.
Thanks.
Thanks.

never fear, Jedi is here!
where are you located? I notice that above the 95° mark is when things start getting tough on the oem cooling system.
stop and go traffic can be brutal because you're simply not getting enough air.
depending on where you live, I'd recommend running a higher water to coolant ratio then mazda uses. Stock they go with 60% coolant / 40% water.
I'd go 70/30 in the other direction.
Any aftermarket parts?
One of the best buys out there is the Mazmart Water Pump, that guy can really help out.
Let us know how the car does after mazda replaces the radiatior and thermostat.
P.S. Your automatic only has ONE oil cooler which also works against you because the M/T's have two oil coolers.

thanks for the info. i'll check the coolant ratio once i get my 8back. The car is in PR and yes the heat is unreal (try 99@only 10am!). I was considering getting the cold intake from racing beat. The car just have the catback from them.
THANKS.

Welcome to my world. Changing the radiator and thermostat more than likely will do nothing. It is an inadequate cooling system design by Mazda. I have an '05 AT as well.
Mazda has sent engineers out on three occasions to determine why my car would over heat. They replaced everything under the hood pretty much. Click this

yeah, it can get a bit hot in PR, I don't know how you do it.
Easy has seen it all while living out in the desert and I agree that the system is inadequate for high temp areas such as PR and AZ
