Hmmmmm. Is it bogging out at a certain RPM? Like it hits an early rev limiter?

It has absolutely no power anywhere. Immediately after it happened, it would still rev all the way up. I never tried after I drove it home (when the fuel smell got really bad and melted my exhaust shrouds aka I think the cat gave it up). Highest I revved it aferwards was around 4k.

Yeah sounds like a clogged cat, I had similar issues last year but they replaced the coils, plugs, and the cat so it's hard to say what fixed it but it ran fine when I got it back. It ran fine for a month or two and then the engine crapped out.

Got a call about 15 minutes ago saying it has no compression on either rotor and the new motor is already on its way from Georgia. Georgia? Mazmart? If it's Mazmart I have a wishlist of stuff they could put on it. edit: $100 nylon spacers are awesome. Count me in.

I'm gonna have them check the cat, clutch, air pump, and OMP. Anything else I haven't thought of? Airpump was starting to whine and I've suspected my car never injected enough oil.

How many miles are on your car? That sucks. Good time for a clutch replacement since they will have it all off anyway.

Awesome. I'll definitely look into it soon. Can you PM me a link to a good reservoir for the oil?

This is the one I got, just message him and tell him you just need one with the 1/4" or 3/4" nipple on the bottom and not the others. It's very sturdy and the cap is top notch which was the problem with the others I tried and the caps leaked.

I just used a bunch of 3M double sided tape to hold it against the washer fluid reservoir and it held just fine.

You got that from Richard Sohn? I guess I'm not sure who I'm supposed to message about it. Easily converted back to stock right?

That is the exact same tank I have been using for 2 years and, yes, it is a robust tank.

I just got my car back and the new motor feels SOOO much better. It may be the week in a Hyundai Accent that desensitized my butt dyno, but it feels stronger than the old motor pre-loss-of-compression. My hypothesis is that I was slowly losing compression all along and never noticed until poof the compression was all gone on a rotor. The mechanic that did all the work seems to be in love with my car and he couldn't stop complimenting the JIC coilovers.
