Post Poll: calling all engine replacements AT or MT?

I am trying to determine if the engine failures are more common in MT cars than in AT cars. I thought this would be of interest to others as well here. If not, I'm sure the mods will delete it. I realize this is not a scientific survey at all, but I think it will still be a fair representation. If anything it will be biased away from the AT, as most of us here are enthusiasts and enthusiasts normally have MT cars. So I would think that there is a high ratio of MT cars to AT on this board than exist in reality.

Only answer if you have a failed engine or have DIRECT knowledge of a failed engine (for any reason other than obvious neglect or abuse) for a person that you know does not visit this site.

You have got to be kidding me? Two votes? Come on guys, I know there are several posts from members who have had engines replaced. Where did you guys go? I guess it hasn't been up long enough. I worked so hard today it feels like it's been a couple days since I posted it.

i have direct knowledge off the amount of engines replaced. the amount of standard power AT engines replaced far outweighs the amount of hi power MTs. this past summer alone there were close to 200 AT engines on back order at one point to replace the ones in texas, arizona and nevada(plus a few here and there). the ratio is about 50 to 1 AT to MT. please read the threads concerning lubbuck texas and las vegas engine problems.

Thanks for your post. That is what I've been looking for. This poll is really not accurate as most of us here are car enthusiasts. And car enthusiasts usually do not drive automatics.
