No, we were going to but he started steaming engines before I tested em.
I still haven't tested mine yet.
Tester's still in the box in my garage.
I'll definitely test it before I commit to the rebuild, to compare with the stealership's numbers.

I'm not real sure how to do the cleaning, I'll have to go back and read it.
Maybe I can do a before & after.

Yeah. He has around 106 across the board iirc.

We didn't do a baseline test though prior to the cleaning.

Steam cleaning is quite easy BigC

Do you think if it did make a difference it would be readily apparent, or take a few cycles?

Honestly I think it would take at least a drive cycle to notice a difference.
But again, I never got to test before and after so my data is limited.
Also we never discussed the impact on spark plugs.

Would it clean them up nicely and make them work great again, maybe. But you also run the risk of fouling them out.

Personally after the steam clean just like after a seafoam I would replace plugs.

I have another road trip to Houston next month, then I'll try to get it done.
I put new ones in with my new kit, it's been a while now, wouldn't hurt to change them.

So we don't know for sure just how well the steam cleaning works.

What do you mean never proven, he posted the before and after results of doing water decarb.

Unless you attribute gaining 2 bars to "random luck" after water decarbing it. You also see his engine looked cleaner through the endoscope.

That link doesn't work..
I never saw his post regarding results.

I did see the one thread that had a few images YEARS ago but have yet to see results from the last set of tests which was a few cars, not just one.

Try to decarbonize the engine with seafoam or zoomzoom cleaner. Do the Treatment like 2 or 3 times with say 100 miles in between. There's nothing to lose and it's worth the try.

Thanks BigC, works now.

I do remember that thread somewhat.

I'll have to read it again but I don't think he ever came to a solid conclusion on it. (Whether or not it made a difference with clearing out the tighter areas that hold/are around seals. ). It obviously removes face carbon

Something to do later .
