Powersterring indicator light on first time
Hey there i got a problem with my 8 . i went to the car wash this morning cuz it has salt on the body so i wanted to clean it then i only went the body but not the engine and then blow dry it and then after i was done . i went to work and about 4 hrs later i turn my car on and let it warm up about 15 min then went to my car and noticed that the ppowersterring indicator light was on . i looked under the hood to see if there was anything loose or unpluged and noticed nottin at all so i drove it home and parked it and tryed to figure out what was wrong but nottin still . i was hoping to take it to the dealer cuz it still on has 58k and might be under the factory warranty can u plz help me . peopel say that could be the connector or fuse or the harness but i want to be sure what is the real problem .

People in this case are right. 90% of the time, a power steering problem, be it just a light or an actual change in the power steering, is just the power steering connector. You can clean it yourself for free without wasting a day at the dealership, which is doubly better because the dealership won't know that it just needs cleaning, and they will try to stick you with a $1,500 control module or a $2,000 steering rack, plus whatever hundreds in diagnosis fees.
Pull the air box out, remove the air box tray, and you can see the connectors right there on the brace below where the air box tray was next to the fan motor. Unplug and clean out with electrical contact cleaner, 92%+ isopropyl alcohol, maf cleaner, and/or canned air. Re-connect, replace the air box stuff, and be on your way.

hey if anyone is reading this . i found out what could be the problem with the power sterring indicator light on which its the connector that connect to the rack opinion . which it makes sense because its all the way in the bottom and its gets dirty there more so try that and it will stop the problem .
