Problems from Coil/Plug/Wire change..

I just upgraded my coilpacks to Okada plasma-direct, along w/ new Taylor Wires and plugs..I changed each coil, wire, plug one at a time and have since double checked..everything seems to be as it shoud....I start the car, sounds great, rev's nice, no deadspots..When you drive the car, say in 3rd gear, it bogs down bettween 4 and 5 grand..I'n 4th gear the engine will bog when there's any boost and wont allow passing of 4500 Rpm..CEL flashes(P0300) multiple Cyl. missfires..
I've doublechecked coil/wire orders, everything looks Ok..Can't find any Vaccumn leaks..I Reset PCM, no help..Anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate the help..Thanks

1.) You sure about this............

2.) Check and make sure plug wires are really still seated. There is one that tends to pop off from time to time.

3.) Also............you do know that the leading and trailing plugs have deifferent numbers and are actually different right?

4.) Kinda sounds like limp mode perhaps.........did you do the ECU reset? If not.....do a search on "ECU reset"

5.) What prompted this change of coils, plugs, and wires? How was it running right before this as it starting to almost sound like possible cat trouble.

Were you having any problems with your car before you did this. What other mods have you done, miles, service performed, parts replaced, which spark plugs did you put in. Any thing you can add.

Thanks for the replies guys...I got the coilpacks on Ebay..I knew it was time to do the plugs so I figured I'd step up the ignition system..I've had the turbo kit on for 15K miles. I was running a solid 7lbs with no problems..I killed the stock cat..I hollowed it out..I'm gonna try and swap back to old coils tomorrow..Ive got the coil sequence right. I put in the stock mazda plug set. I know I have the front plugs right as i can read the T and the L on the plugs..I have to get under the car to double check the rear ones. I did take the battery terminals off, put them together to clear the ecm, Shouldn't that clear it? hope that answers everyones questions..

Sorry, we just don't know what your experience level is.

Just for grins, I would do the following two things:

Disconnect the negative terminal, wait a bit, hold the brake pedal down for a few minutes, then reconnect the neg. terminal. Reset the memory by doing the 20 brake pedal pump thing......turn the key to on, but don't start, then pump the brake fairly fast until the oil pressure gauge sweeps right, then back to the left.

Reset the sensor profiles by holding down the trip counter reset button with the igintion off, then while still holding down the button turning the key to the 'on' position. After a moment the odometer will say "test."

I had to hang around this morning to wait for freight deliveries..New Hood and Nose are comming..I did the reset as well as the sensor reset..The car is still misfiring at a little over 6k when not under any load, out of gear..When driving, it will happen when I hit a little over 4k, right when I start to boost..I gotta try swapping the packs..I'll let you know what goes...Thanks

Well...just swapped the coils back and...same thing..if anything, the car took longer to start, it cranked for 2 seconds..With the okada coils it was very quick to start..At least on the bright side..I'm kind of relieved it's not the packs, they were some bucks and came from Cali..would have been a headache to get reimbursed..
Could it be the wires? Maybe fuel, I don't think it has to do with enrichment, because the engine is still under vacuum when it misfires at 6k. The greddy program works of a pressure sensor..I've tried adding fuel during the transition to boost..It didn't help..astill had the misfire..The only thing i have left to check is to see if I somehow put the wrong plugs in the rear housing and have the leading plug in trailing and vice versa, but I have wires right..Has anyone done that..I wonder what the run characteristics would be if thaqt was the case..I hace to get under the car to check I cant read the plugs from up top..If thats not it..What can I say...I'm Stumped..

Check for an exhaust leak or intake leak.

You may have bumped the MAF tube or plug under the TB.

Make sure you clear the eccentric shaft as stated above.
