IL Problems with the Gas

Hey everybody.. Im currently kind of stumped of whats causing my gas problems. I have an 04 auto. Lately my car takes is taking longer to start after i pump gas into it. The other day it didn't even want to start.. it took me like 5 tries cranking it and then it started. I think im getting less gas mileage also..And sometimes the gas gauge will go up slowly after driving a short while. it will only go up a like one dash though. Thats basically it. My car starts fined every other time its only when i get gas. Im not really a car expert but i heard that maybe a bad fuel injector can cause this idk..something wit the gas pump? or cat is dying? Anyone with any help? i would really appreciated

How many miles? Do you have the newer style starter motor? This normally means the compression is low. Have you had a compression test done? How many miles on plugs, coils? Have you done a decarbon cleaning?

so every other time you start it and it starts fine is a cold start right? and the times it doesnt start right are at the gas station after its only been off for a few minutes, correct?

^..................sometimes you have to ask very specific and direct questions to get to the actual situation.

its 49,000 miles on the car. idk about the new style starter motor..I havent got any test. And i've changed my plugs, coils like 5 months ago. but not the wires. I bought the car used about a year and half ago. And havent done decarbon cleaning.

well now that i think about it, sometimes it would do that after its been off a few minutes other than just at the gas station. but rarely like once every week. And yeah i drive it alot. BUT only at the gas station after i put gas it takes longer to start and one time it didnt start after 5 tries. Lets see, all the cold starts seem pretty fine.

what you have is a warm start issue. starter, fuel pump or loss of compression.

you have a 2004 AT. start with the compression test

edit- check and clean your plugs.
