pull started a flooded 04 6spd GT, rattling, now clutch not engaging

Hello all
Just bought an 04 GT 6spd that's been sitting for a while and flooded. Had enough Audi's and just rebuilt and built up the engine in my 1g awd DSM but this is my first rotary so I could use some help. Read up a good bit though. As the starter's too slow and the disconnect and connect fuel pump while cranking trick wasn't getting me past the occasional sputter, I pulled the plugs, spun the engine to get the excess fuel/oil that's been sitting in there, cranked for a while without the fuel pump connected, and the reconnected and easily pull started it in 3rd. It smoked for a while and I had a hard time keeping the engine running as it didn't rev past 4k. On a side note, when I was cranking the engine before hand, as soon as I would stop, the engine would stop turning, telling me that there's ok compression. Oil pressure was about 2/3 and it was warming up ok. After about 10 mins it basically stopped smoking but was still rattling pretty good. I also had to pretty much keep the gas almost floored to keep it at about 3500rpm. It then died and now the clutch won't engage to allow the engine to crank (not sure if it's the switch or mechanical) and there's oil all over the top of the engine but can't really figure out where it's from as the oil level seems ok, antifreeze is fine, and so is the brake clutch fluid. I was pulling it to the dealership to get the oil line and ECU reflash recalls taken care of and wanted to get it started on the way. I haven't had a chance to pull the airpump, airbox, battery box, and whatever else is in the way to have a better view of what's going on yet. It's at the dealership now and I'm sure they'll offer their 2 cents (new engine, new trans) but though I'd get some groupthink feedback first. Any thoughts? I'm thinking perhaps a piece of the pressure plate or throwout bearing broke and got rattled about. ...and no, the clutch wasn't pressed in the whole time but rather let go and put in neutral after started. Re the oil issue, upon looking at a before and after picture of the engine, it looks like the oil hose from the oil filler cap that goes to the intake popped off though not sure why. I have a video of it running which I'll post right away as soon as I figure out how.
