Pulling P2004 code - APV stuck open
I just bought an 04 rx8 and after driving it a few hundred kms I am getting a P2004 code - apv stuck open. It feels perfectly fine but is there a relatively easy way to fix this? Is it hurting the car if I drive with this problem? Thanks.

Code turned off for about 200 kms and then came back on recently. It reads as pending and DTC on the code reader. So is this just a minor problem, any ideas how much it will cost a dealer to fix or should I check it out myself?

It doesnt hurt your car, it just makes your car run leaner or more rich, i forget which - but it should be fine, in other words it wont break your car. It wont pass emissions though atleast here in CA.
Mine fixed during a decarb process. Error is no longer there nor is it in the Pending errors section.
Car runs fine now.

Yea my inspection is coming up in winter. What did you decarb with? seafoam? Im going to get my car tuned up this coming week. I will do a decarb before it goes in, or while its at the shop. Hopefully if it goes away so I can get back to dealing with important things that may be wrong with car. I need brake pads, and I want to put drilled/slotted rotors on it. Also need to save money to pay off car each month. Long time coming till I get enough for cool stuff.
Check it out, sometimes they can do it if you can convince them its warranty work, i got it done because i knew the service manager in Santa Monica, too bad as of April, the dealership is gone haha.
