Question about oil in the intake
I've searched and can't find anything. I've been having a hesitation issue and it cleared up when I installed my Typhoon intake. While installing I cleaned the maf. I noticed it was a little oily inside the intake. Right after I put on the intake it ran great. I drove it for almost an hour. Then It started hesitating again. If your gradual with the gas its fine but any abrupt changes and it stumbles. I checked and there is oil in the intake again. So guessing the MAF is covered again. Oil appears to be coming from the Vent or vacuum line that runs from the oil filler neck to the intake. I use a funnel to fill the oil so I know its not coming from me filling the oil. It has to be some kind of blow by. My first thoughts from my piston days would say a clogged PCV but I'm thinking we don't have them on the rotary. Could I just take off the hose and cap both nipples or do I need to get a baffled catch can. Or cap the one on the intake and put a filter on the other one. Any help would be great. Or a point in the right direction.

Had the same problem. Take apart the intake and TB and give them a good cleaning. Mine was from the vacuum line and think it was from adding too much oil. A catch can could help you solve this problem if the oil is coming from the line. Oh and clean the MAF as well.

I knew a little bit was common but to mess up my MAF within a hour. That seems excessive. I was trying to see if their was another cause. Guess I will be putting in a catch can soon. I had already read the issue with when you add oil that is why I use a long funnel.
