Quick bit of feedback please!
So it has been pissing rain here for about 5 days straight. Due to an operation I just had on my foot, I have not been able to drive the 8 (it's been outside) for about 72 hours.
I went out today, fired it up, did not wait more than 30 seconds and proceeded to drive down the street. If I am not already an idiot for doing that, then:
About 200 yards down the street I brought it up past 6 before shifting. The car bogged a little just before I shifted.
Is the appropriate reply from one of you "Hey moron. You should keep your revs down until the car has a chance to warm up a little."
If so I deserve it. I'm just posting in case what happened is totally abnormal and I need to look at a, b or c.
This car has been running like a top (13,200 miles on it) until this. I think it's me being a jackass. Can one of you confirm that I am? :D

Probably.. always allow the car to warm up before pushing it. Also, because you let the car sit for a while, it could be blasting some slight carbon build up out the exhaust. That could have been described as a bog or a pop. Just let the car warm up next time, and take it 9K a few times to blast the carbon out of the engine. All should be fine after that.

the ecu will lower the redline from 9K while the engine is "cold". I'm told on the S2s that the redline actually moves on the tach to illustrate this.

I'll give it another look and try not to put it down again thanks to tips like "do not attempt to operate vehicle from the back seat."
I've been regarding this forum as the best place to read, research and ask.
Since my moment of dipshittery, I've let Felix's Temp guage register warn before 9-ing the twice that I have. He seems to like this.
Thanks again for the feedback everyone.
On another note, I got my first group stare and "that is one sweet car, man." today when I
parked at a local ballfield. Felt nice.

Yeah until operating temperature its limited to about 5xxx or something in that ball park (feel free to correct me) but I am pretty sure about that. Just let it warm up before pushing it.

Series 2 redline when "cold" is 2 stage, and has a visual cue on the gauge, where it will show a lower redline, moves to a higher redline (but still under 9k) after it passes a certain point, then open up the full 9k redline at a 2nd mark.
