Yes, I was there. The center console will light up when headlights are on. the cd player will click when you hit the eject button. All the wires were connected(we believe). Only the fan controller would work. The hazards work as well. The LCD display w/ time and temp will not illuminate words just glow red.

How many times to you guys pull it back out and try to reconnect it?
A buddy of mine soldered my heater control for me, and when we put it back together, we got the same thing. We just took it back apart, disconnected everything and reconnected everything to make sure it was all tight... been working fine ever since.
I bet something just doesn't have a good connection.

the radio faceplate is very delicate and placed near the edges, one small hairline fracture of the metal conductors on any of the boards in there is enough to cause chaos within the whole panel, from the display to the a/c controls. the hazards work because theyre on a different circuit.
at least thats the most typical thing i see, most users have a tendency to pry on the radio when you're really supposed to only grab the bottom lip with both hands, wiggle and apply pressure. People instead insert a screwdriver in the side to "pop" it out and either scratch or break a piece of the board off, even a tiny piece *can* do damage. Especially when they dont pull out the invisible 10mm first, cause they pry extra hard and it doesn't budge. seen it way too often, and its not vehicle defect so no warranty either.
The likely scenario either way is something large is broke lol, or if youre lucky a popped fuse that prevented something large from shorting. guess thats rather vague tho...
