Random missfire

Random missfire
In the morning when i turn my car on it smokes quiet a lot, and the cell flashes for about ten seconds. Also the car hesitates at around the 7rpm line. I replaced the spark plugs, wires and coils but the problems still persist. Any ideas? The dealership says its the converter, is there any test i can perform to see if thats true?

bring your car in to auto zone and have the code read for free, then post it here in this thread. That will help us to help you.
Also, what year is your car? How many miles? Are there any engine/ exhaust/ etc mods? Is it manual/ auto?
If it is the cat converter, a few ways to test it are to check after driving to see if it glows red. Or, you can take it off the car and shake it around, listening for debris/ rattles.

Depending on where you live you could just take it to a local automotive garage for an etest on the Cat.... in my area it cost 35 Cdn .... pretty cheap to find out if it's your cat or not.
Hate to say this ... but if you have done coil, plugs, wires, cleaned maf and air filter .... and you are seeing considerable smoke ...
BTW is it white smoke or black smoke?
Anyways ... where I'm going with this .. is the engine is likely baked.

The smoke is white and since i replaced the coils last night the amount of smoke has reduce but it still smokes quiet a bit. If the engine was bad, wouldn't you think they would have told me that at the mazda dealership when i took it in? I hope thats not the case. Would the converter cause the car to smoke?. I havent replaced the air filter but the water pump i believe might be leaking though i dont think that would cause the missfire.

Doesn't sound good....white smoke can mean your burning coolant in the combustion process.
I don't think a bad catalytic converter would cause smoke.... <shrug>
It's really hard to tell what the problem is for certain.
Go in and ask for a compression test.
And on the Mazda technician subject .... lol there are plenty of stories on this forum that would suggest that Mazda wouldn't tell you that your motor is bad.
I wouldn't walk across the room to **** on my Mazda dealership.
Sounds like you're in a tough position, sorry I don't have anything more to offer you.
Unfortunately my money is on a bad engine.

Yes the smoke does go away once its warm up. The coils seemed tohave helped he starting now it urns on quicker than what it used to. I took it to autozone and the code that it reads now is p301 as to what before it was p300and p301. I have been reading on other posts that this engines Don go past 120k miles maybe my engine is gone . I have not the checked the Mar or the other thing. Mainly because I don't know how and I don't have any money to replaced them. I need some serious help

And the hesitation around 6000 could be a sticky APV ..

Well they wouldn't... the OP was mentioning many symptoms and all the questions/suggestions were intended to draw out additional information... which they did!

Misfire in cylinder one, rough start
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HELP!!!! i have a 2oo4 rx8 with 93k on it. the car blows out smoke when first starting up with rough idel until it clears out. Throws a code of missfire in the first cylinder. changed the coils, plug wires, plugs, ran compression test, ran vacum test. I can't seem to figure out what's going on. all the plugs are firing. I did noticed that the Trailing plug on the front egine/car was full of oil. This was the only plug that had oil on it. I am guessing that is where the missfire code is comming from. the leading plug in the same camber was dry. Any idea's?
