Tony, today I had my pilot bearing replace for the third time on my 8. When the pilot bearing fail it will not allow you to put you car in gear. The head mechanic at John Hine Mazda informed me that the noise that we hear from the clutch/transmission area is not normal. From my personal experience, it's defenitly your pilot bearing and will need to be replace as soon as possible.

my friend put a really light flywheel in his car and the car made a rattle sounds all the time, u cud describe it as a wooshing. everytime hes off the clutch pedal it did that. if u step on it lightly and it goes away it may be u have a lighter one in the car. im not sure if u bought the car pre owned and if u know what in there tho. good luck bud
