RE: Oil Changes
The manual says that under heavy duty use that I shoud change the oil at 5,000 miles but the dealer says that I should do it at 3,000 miles. Who should I believe?

Between 3K - 5k is really more of a personal comfort thing if you ask me. I usually change mine somewhere around 4K. Depending on how you drive, you may also be adding up to a full quart between changes to keep it topped up. I check mine at every other fuel fillup. I got 268K out of my old explorer (I know its a piston engine) but the idea is the same. Just keep changing it regulaly somwhere less tha 5K and all should be well. Mine is zooming just fine now at 51K miles.

i think you might want to read the owners manual as that is what mazda says.... so do you do heavy duty driving... i would doubt it...
the dealership makes more money if you change your oil every 3k miles... but then you should be doing it your self....
i changed mine a 500 miles then 1000 miles ... then every 5 k mile after that....
so far so good....
