Rear brake calipers won't compress
I have researched on here and still can't figure it out so here it goes... I went to swap my brake pads out and need to compress the caliper piston and it's on the rear so I'm using that tool from autozone and it is spinning but won't retract, on either side. I've put plenty of pressure while turning and still nothing. I've tried everything I found on here and can't figure it out. Any suggestions.

things that can be wrong...
The tips on the tool are not engaging the slots on the piston. Check to make sure that the piston itself is turning. With mine, you put some pressure on with the nut, then turn the t-handle, then put some more pressure on.

Yes, the piston is turning. The tool does spin the piston but it does not retract. I've gotten 3 or 4 people to try and still nothing. I guess I don't understand the system, how can it spin but not retract? The threads should be sucking it back in right?

It an spin and not retract, there is stuff inside that will move. Pressure and spin are the key. tighten the nut a bit (just firm), then turn. I have no idea on a torque for how tight, but it should not be much. If you I do know that mine were a pain the first time.
If you have to pull it apart, just be gentle. There is a thread here about rebuilding the rear calipers. the first part says how to get them out. That will let you know if something else has gone wrong. New boots and seals would not be a bad idea if you have the piston out. I am pretty sure you need to pull the caliper off the car for the work.
Where are you?

Okay I worked at it today an finally got them to twist in. I couldn't tell you how though. I just cranked on them for about 45 min and it finally started to move. Theres got to be an easier way lol. Thanks for the help!
