Rear defrost problem
When I turn on the rear defrost while I have the radio on, I get nothing but static though the speakers. It's been like that since the day I've got the car (04). My buddy has a Lincoln LS and has the same exact problem
. Any ideas?
thanks

The problem is that the antena for the radio is in the rear window right next to the heaters for the defrost. The rear defrost is simply running electricity through the wires which heat up. Electricity is also electro-magnetic. That is why you get static when you drive under high tension wires. You only real solution is to install another antena somewhere else on the car. Or you could do what I do. I simply listen to a CD while I have it on. If you have a station that has a signal strong enough to overcome the interferance you could listen to that station.
