Replaced Brakes now Fluid Reservoir is Overfilled and Spilled Over
As the title says... I did the rears (rotors and pads) yesterday and the fronts today. After doing the first side of the fronts today, I thought the brake pedal felt a little weird when I turned the car around to do the other side. Then as I was doing the other side, when I was pushing the caliper piston back in, I noticed brake fluid leaking. Turns out it overfilled and was leaking around the reservoir cap. What should I do? I'm afraid to drive to brake in the new brakes since I don't want to burst a brake line. Btw, reservoir would have been full before doing my brakes since I got my brake fluid flushed a week ago with my 96,000km service.

Think about it - you pushed the calipers in , oil has to go somewhere .
You can get rid of the extra by either bleeding the brakes which should be done periodically anyway . Or get a see through tube and suck it out of the reservoir .

Your brake fluid reservoirver over flowed since you pushed back in the calipers and the fluid went back into the brake fluid reservoir. Just clean uo the spilled fluid and make sure the cap is on correctly. You will be fine. Unless your brake lines are old or in bad shape with will not burst.

It was part of my 96,000km service - the dealership changed the brake fluid. Then they told me I needed to service my brakes. And then I figured if I'm servicing, might as well change them since they were getting low!
Anyways thanks guys for the replies. That is what I figured happened afterwards, glad you confirmed. I rinsed that part of my engine bay with the garden hose to flush out the leaked fluid, and then took her for a spin. All worked well.
