Resetting ECU Help?

Hey there,
Fairly new to this forum but need some advice/help. Not sure if this exact question has been posted before but I couldn't find any info that really helped yet so here goes.

I have a manual 2006 rx-8, north american market, 56k kms on it, pristine condition. Only aftermarket things on it are non-engine related.

Questions are:
How long until system becomes readable for OBD2 test after ecu reset, and what can I do to speed up the process (if anything)
AND
How common is the U0155 code for these cars?

Details:

Anyway, after its first CEL a couple days ago we checked and it was the misfire in 1st rotor (forget the code). I took it to dealer (without telling them we knew the code) and they said it turned out to be failed ignition coil. I had to get it replaced so I could pass OBD2. Dealer told me it would only take 20 minutes hwy driving before it would be readable again but it got rejected by the test after about 40 minutes of driving (given, it was slightly heavy traffic).
I figured I'd just take it in the day after (today) but after driving another 20 minutes, there were still 3 codes left to clear before it became readable (checked with my code reader).
I started it a bit later to try and drive it some more in hopes of clearing the rest and passing the test but when I started it the the CEL flashed on again...
So I called the dealer, got an immediate appt and they read the code as U0155 and said it was non-threatening and that it happens all the time.
They cleared it and now I have to wait again for everything to become readable.... I've driven it city/hwy for half the day now and still have the same last 4 codes to clear.
Has anyone had this experience before??

Thanks in advance!

It takes a specific drive cycle to reset the status of the ecu mode tests. It can be done by driving the car over an extended period of time...and it will set sooner or later

If you have a FSM there is a specific cycle you can do that will speed it up

I personally have driven 3 weeks around town and on the highway and still didn't set all the mode status flags.....so if you want to do it fast get the proper procedure and follow it to the letter

Geez the fsm is looong! It'll take me a while to find the section where it expains all this. They should really find a way to make this easier... why couldn't the dealer just tell me how to get rid of the code, shouldn't they know this??

thanks!!

Okay I did some more research, found the driving modes, attempted to do them on my way home just to see if I can in regular traffic and they worked well, just one code left to clear. It should clear when I do it properly! Thanks guys!

On a different note, I'm constantly getting DTC code U0155... as far as I have seen its fairly unimportant (hiccups in the system and such) but its quite annoying as I have to clesr it constantly....
Does anyone else have this problem??
Does anyone know what the most common causes are?
I may start a new thread if replies are low :p

Yeah I went to the dealer when it was on and they gave me a list of around 10 sub-codes but said nothing to worry about, just cleared the code and sent me on my way...
I just wanna know if something is malfunctioning or needs to be replaced or if I need to be doing something differently and curoous if anyone else has had this problem.
