Rx-8 blown engine? Tractor engine sound! Help!!
Hi! I drove last week to work and was slowly accelerating from 50km/h to 80km/h when the power dissapeared. I put the clutch in and the engine shut down. I pulled over and tried to start it again. It started but the engine sounded like a TRACTOR! I had a obd cable in my car so i tested it for any errors, but none!
I sent the car to my mazda dealer, they drove it into the garage and the cel light showed on the dashboard
P0302 no2 cylinder misfire detecte
U0073 controll module communication bus a off
I ordered new sparkplugs/wires and coils and had them installed, but that didn't help. Still sounds like a tractor.
No2 cylinder sparkplugs are wet!!
Engine km: 55000

you should probably have a mechanic remove the motor and 'crack the cases' (or you could just do it yourself) to determine the condition of the housing, irons, and the rotor so that you can see what parts you need. Assuming that one or more of the apex seals is broken, you may need a new housing and irons.
