RX-8 No Power - Fuel in Cat
Hi Guys,
I've got a 2004 231bhp RX-8 (55k). A few weeks ago 2 ignition coils went on the rear rotor after she wouldn't start from being hot, after filling up with petrol. I had the coils replaced and the leads (plugs were new anyway).
When it happened I called the RAC out for a tow and we managed to get it started with a jump, but it kept dying (we held it at high revs for a around 30 seconds in an attempt to keep it running). After speaking to the Mazda garage they said there was fuel in the cat and I should take it out for a good run to try and clear it.
I've done about 400 miles and there is very little power above 4,000rpm. Around town is no problem at low revs but she struggles above this. There is occasionally a knocking sound around 7,000rpm.
Anyone had any experience with this or know any way to clear the fuel? Could it be something else?
Any help appreciated!

If the cat is clogged it's pretty much toast. You can get a used one on here (I just sold mine yesterday for $280), or go with a high flow cat from one of our vendors.
Alternatively you can run no cat and run the cobb AP to eliminate a check engine light and pass emissions.
