RX8 jumping around
My lovely rx8 has just been for a 3 year service at mazda, sparks, diff oil, I was very impressed with there level of service and the car feels great. well I thought it did until I went to any empty car park to do some tricks. Basically if I want to spin up the back wheels the whole car jumps around really badly. It had never done this before the service.
Any ideas???

When you mean by tricks. do you mean like making your car do a 360 flip to k grind. and also when you mean by jump. like as in a ollie?
btw never heard of these type of issues. but hopefully someone will be able to answer your problem.

ok. so if i set the revs high, dumped the clutch then the rear wheels dont spin up like they did...smoothly spinning up to cause tyre smoke. I know it sounds strange when your in the car it feel like the car is juming up and down and you have to stop, unlike before when it was smoking up big time.

Okay, time to get serious about playing...
You said you turned off traction control (full hold down button for 8 secs until you see 2 lights up on your dash) - at this point you can turn on DSC only after stopping and restarting the car.
The jumping around you are getting is actually called tire hop, and yes it is horrible in our cars, especially when our tires are cold and when you have things going on at low revs.
By parking lot tricks I usually mean donuts and powerslides.
When doing a donut, you have to dump the clutch at a high rpm to get the wheels to move beyond hopping to actually sliding. While performing the donut you also need to be reving high.
On a wet surface popping your clutch at 4000rpm is usually enough to get you through the hops. On a dry surface I dump at 6000 to get things going. While I'm spinning around I'm in between 4000rpm to 9000rpm and always in first gear.
The key to getting past the wheel hop is to keep the car well up in it's power band. Because we lack torque, it's the only way to do things. Rolling burnouts are really hard to do for this reason, but can be done with sensitive left foot braking and a heavy right foot.
No matter what I do I always get a bit of hopping at the beginning..
* sorry just reread the first post, I think I'm off the mark here...
