Hi Guys im new to this forum so not sure if I posted in the right place, anyways I bought a RX8 56reg 46k on the clock.. the eml is on and the car struggles to rev, it struggles to go upto 3500rpm when driving and when stationary it goes max 5000rpm. I have just changed the Spark plugs and leads, felt little bit better with the drive. I read it up on the net about the air pump I have unplugged all the wires on the pump reconnected it taken the battery out but still no diference. Also my mechanic plugged in the machine and code came P0410 which is the secondry air injection fail. but this morning when i started the car in the cold it seemed like it was working as it was making a that noise... Also While the engine was on I took the air flow sensor out and press the rev but it didnt rev at all. could it be that or do i need to also try putting on a new coil... ..also when I start the car and drive off it feel bit better when its warmed up properly after driving foor half an hour it goes worse. Please help really stuck...

Sounds like new ignition coils are definitely in order, but you might want to do a compression test first to make sure the engine is worth saving. Do you have difficulty starting the car when warm at all?

Also suggest you stop driving it until you figure this out, continuing to drive on bad coils could cause more damage.

Hi Mate im going to get a new coil in tommorow god knows why I didnt when i did the plugs and the leads.... the car starts perfect cold or warm no issues or nothing, just now went out on lunch parked up then after 15mins or so went back to the car started up and noticed it was idling. also can the car jerks when driving and feels like sometimes it wants to pull but it cant... How do I do the compression test

Have you checked your catalytic converter yet? It could be clogged up and if that is the case then driving will kill your engine.

You can get a compression test done at a Mazda dealership or a rotary shop as long as they have the proper tool to do it.

I've managed to change the coil and the rev is working but the car started to shake and idle took it for a test drive it stalled few times and a smell started to come out so took it straight back to the mechanic and smoke started to come out so the mechanic is saying my cat is blocked..

I've read it up that you can smash open the the cat.. Mechanic will have a look at it on Monday.. And see what he can do
