Second clutch bracket replacement in 3 months. Gears grinding.
Hey Fellas,
I got my clutch bracket replaced in November, I let Mazda do it which was very lucky because I normally always do my own work on the car. When the pedal started sticking to the floor I knew exactly where to look, booked in a warranty replacement which sucks but at least I got lucky this time not having to pay for a second pedal. Even after the first replacement the car still has issues with the transmission, before the first replacement shifting directly into 2nd or 3rd from redline caused the gears to grind. After the replacement only second grinded when I was pushing the car hard. Before I found the clutch pedal I replaced the slave, new clutch and flywheel done by previous owner 10,000km ago, I'm wondering if the Mazda techs maybe just botched the installation somehow or if I should drop the tranny and check out the pilot and throw-out bearings.
Car is at 95,000km so I'm conflicted on if it could be a synchro problem, perhaps all the times the gears grinded could have messed it up. Is there a way to check the general health of the transmission before I have to drop it? Sounds I should look out for? Or perhaps something in the transmission fluid?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
