Slave cylinder grease questions, clutch squeak
I have a squeaking noise when I fully depress my clutch, and when I just release. The noise is actually coming from outside of the cabin. The clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder were just replaced due to a different squeak, and fluid seepage.
Based on some searching, the noise could be the slave cylinder rod may need to be lubricated, where it makes contact with the transmission.
I have two questions regarding this:
1. Can the tip of the slave cylinder rod be lubricated without unbolting it from the transmission? (Unbolting the slave in the 8 looks like tons of fun)
2. What grease should be used for this application?
Thank you all.

Yea I have the same problem as well, especially after rain/any water. Originallly I thought it was the pedal assembly, but that snapped and was replaced under warranty. It still squeaks every once in awhile too.

Ok, I figured out my issue. A little bit of white lithium grease onto the connecting rod helped alon with a few squirts down into the transmission. Don't ask me what it actually lubricated but the sound is finally gone.
