Exclamation Softer Brake Pedal After Full Brake Swap

Ok changed out front and rear brake pads from stock to Wagner thermo Quiet Ceramic brake pads. Now I have noticed that the pedal it slighty softer/Less reponsive than before. I did bed the new brakes in 70-0 stop as hard as possible also hard braking when possible. I did not bleed the brakes but I shouldn't have to if I did a proper brake job. Took the cap off the master cylider resivour when I did the brake job and I have the proper fluid level. Just wanted to see what you guys thought I have had suggestions ranging from bleed the brakes to give it a few days.

Even though you shouldn't have to bleed the brakes after changing pads, its usually the first thing to perform if your brakes appear softer.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Your 'thermo-quiet' pads are likely the reason for the changed feel. Their initial bite probably is geared towards the 'average guy' driver who not used to the initial bite that a performance pad gives. You also didn't mention the condition of the rotors, any ridges or uneven wear means a longer bedin for pads. Last, bleeding the brakes isn't necessary, but is so simple a thing, it's good to do after anytime you are moving the pistons back. Brake fluid ages, and can absorb moisture and giving (!) soft pedal as a symptom.

The rotors are original at 57k and the fluid looks pretty new but I will give it a couple days and if it doesn't get better I'll bleed the brakes and see if that helps thanks for all your help guys.

also when bedding the pads you don't want to come to a complete stop. You want to do 60-10 or so not to 0. Coming to stop can create a hot spot or uneven deposit.

If the fluid is the original...it needs to be changed....should have been done on your big service...but

Bleed the brakes always when you do pads..even though it shouldn't matter....
