Sohn adapter question
I've been doing a bit of watching videos and write ups on installing the adapter.
There are three hoses going to the stock OMP. I would assume that 2 go to injectors going into the two rotors.
The third one, I guess, comes from the oil sump to supply oil to the oil pump system.
Why can't you just unhook the one coming from the sump and install a hose there with one coming
from a tank with the fresh permix? You would not need the Sohn adapter by doing this.
Yes, this might qualify as a dumb question, but I'm told there are no dumb questions
just (possibly) dumb answers.....![Anger](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/anger.gif)

77 cylinders, 4 rotors...
Read up on it.
Team is always on any Sohn post like white on rice.
I have them on both of mine.

no, just happened to see it in the new posts listing and clicked on it
but at 18+ years of RX8 experience I see it as a waste of effort, money, and effectiveness compared to adding 0.5 oz/gal of premix in the fuel tank. Which I get that it lacks the convenience of filling an added oil tank, but if the system stops working or has some sort of hiccup the engine receives no oil at all compared to premix in the fuel. I’ve still yet to see anything at all that confirms in any way that a Sohn offers any value. There’s plenty of conjecture, but no real proof. That’s the honest & sincere truth of my opinion.
and Mr White Rice-a-roni has no business attempting to call anyone else out about being on top of every Sohn topic here.![Suspect](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/suspect.gif)

Not burning expensive high quality engine oil is a tangible benefit, not conjecture. At a liter per track day, it adds up quick. You can always premix in addition to the injected oil, regardless of how you're injecting it. I would recommend doing both as premixed oil can reach where injected can't. Sure, you're adding a potential failure point, but if you can manage to securely attach a hose to a barb, it's not any more problematic than the OMP in the first place. I haven't seen an actual Sohn-related failure on here in my 12 years.
