Something died in my car, now it stinks... [SOLVED]
Earlier today I turn on the AC and heard something interfering with the blower a little. I thought at the time that a leaf or something somehow made its way in. Well, on my way home tonight when I turned the vent on, my god, does it stink. I think a mouse got into the vent and was chewed up by the blower.
So what can I do about it?
Taking the blower out is a major P.I.T.A. according to the service manual. The whole dash has to come out. Is there any other access to the blower besides ripping everything apart?
I could just leave it for a couple weeks and let it dry out and drive my truck instead, or pay someone else to tear it down.
What would you do?
This stinks!

for some reason small animal (read: MOUSE) love to go in there, happened to a lot of people. it probably thought "This small place is nice and warm and dark, my new HOME"
little did that little guy know, there is an "angry" fan down there waiting to chop it up into pieces ...
or it simply got trap by the air filter and/or fan blades (it happened!) and just scared to death (they die because of shock/panic more than starving to death)
This is the reason why I ALWAYS close the vent before I leave my car.

Problem solved! A mouse had built a small nest on top of the cabin air filter and had chewed through the filter. When the fan was turned on, it got sucked through the hole. The mouse was stuck on the inside of the blower fan. It was nicely "ringed" out - juices were splattered all around the inside of the blower box. Took the blower out and cleaned it and the box with bleach. It was actually pretty easy. In case anyone else runs into this problem:
1. Remove glove compartment
2. Pull cover off cabin air filters
3. Remove cabin air filters (clean out mouse nest)
4. From underneath in the footwell: remove the three screws holding on the blower motor
5. Remove blower motor/fan assembly.
6. Clean everything thoroughly.
7. Reassemble, and run fan for a while to get smell out of vents.
Now time for a

daughter recently took out a cat in her 3.
Only visible damage was a missing passenger side fog light...
The flashlight shine into the under tray revealed a completely different picture.
