Speedometer stopped working

Hey, My speedometer stopped working. Any ideas or what to look for before I take it in to the dealer next week?

does the rpm gauge still work... is your mileage increasing ( either tripmeter or total )? Any CEL's?

aseras,
Tach still works, trip meter stays constant. No CEL. No cruise.

Well if i were you I'd not worry about it for a few years

If you do find out, let me know what it is..

From prior experience It's usually a speed sensor that has come loose from the top of the driveshaft on the transmission. Crawl under and see if anything is loose.

Damn! That's a good situation to be in. Let it be for a few months or until you need dealer service...

This happened to my 1991 Nissan Maxima as well. It was a digital speedometer too. It might be some connection is loose, but if you can live with it for a while, I suggest just tell the dealer to do it.

Thanks guys. I haven't got the time to get under it to look for something amiss let alone time to take it to the dealer. I'll let you know when I do though.
