sputtering at 6k and CEL

ive read some threads and have my assumptions but would like some input. My car recently started sputtering (not popping) at 6k and today will not go over 6k without sputtering and there is a significant loss of power as well so i have stayed out of that range in order to get to work today however it seems like an issue. My car has 30k on the clock. Im not really sure what could be causing it however I will pull the code later when i get off work.

I show you have the AEM CAI, I actually noticed that when i had that installed on my car, Its just like its not being able to pull enough air in, I would throw your stock one back on and see if it still does it Btw its going to be a misfire code that you get

Clean your throttle body while you are at it with trouble shooting. Maybe the engine not getting enough air to go beyond 6k rpm. Cleaning the throttle is a good start.

Got the problem.....I think. My car has been at the body shop having the front bumper replaced my old black grill insert had the diamond pattern with the holes in it (like chain link fence), I believe to allow air flow it seems this new one is just a solid diamond pattern with no holes........

I would start by cleaning out the MAF sensor and resetting the ECU. From there you should make sure the screen in the intake is mounted correctly. Since you said they were taking off your bumper they might have messed with the CAI. A crooked, bent or broken screen can cause problems with the MAF not being able to read the incoming air correctly.

If the CEL comes back, try not to clear it so soon and post up what you find.

OK so the code was P0103 and i disassembled the whole intake this morning and found lots.......of condensation build up? I took the MAF housing and it took it out it looked like someone had dunked it in water. I have the AEM CAI with the sleeve as not to let water in so i found this quite odd i also checked the the screen positioning all seems well. I cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner we shall see how it goes thanks for all the input.
