Stalling below half tank

Stalling below half tank
Heya, looking for a hand with an issue that crept up in the last year or so. I've driven very little in that time, maybe 2000km
Car runs/starts fine, annual coil and compression check was done last year, all OK.
It started with a couple of instances of stumbling and complete stalling without a clear cause. When stumbling I can see my fuel trims go full positive, so suspecting a fuel issue I had the fuel pump replaced with an S2 unit. All was well for a while, however the stumbling happened again a few times. In all cases, I was below half tank of fuel, and after filling up it drove fine.
I'm wondering if the transfer between left and right sides of the tank isn't working properly and I'm running one side dry, but I'm not super familiar with how that is meant to work. Does someone have an idea?
I also didn't do the S2 pump upgrade work myself (no time nor desire to play in gasoline at home). The shop is RX8-experienced, but who knows, could have goofed. Common mistakes when doing this upgrade?
Thanks.

If the siphon isn't setup properly it will drain the drivers side and leave most of the fuel in the passenger side...
Only way you are going to figure it out is to pull it apart and see if the siphon is hooked up properly
Tgats the most likely scenario
