stalling, power not quite there

just got my rx-8 a couple weeks ago, stalled today after i accelerated quickly but had to stop for an idiot pulling out, car stalled right after that. 2nd time its stalled in the past 2 weeks, took a couple cranks to turn it over and when i press on the gas when driving it feels like a put my foot on the gas but it doesnt really accelerate for a couple seconds after, like a delay, anyone know what the problems could be or how to fix it?

Likely ignition, but could be a number of other things as well.

How old is the ignition on the car?

Mine did the delay thing. It was the front O2 sensor.

I seem to have the same problem. ('04 Auto). Driving (all normal) all of a sudden a bunch of lights(battery, ABS, TPS, fog lights, DSC) turned on my cluster. But Not the Engine nor Oil lights. And the car continued to drive as normal with the exception that these lights went on and off (off at low speed -0-9 mph, And On when reaching about 2,000 RPM.

It stayed that way for the whole day (i drove it maybe another 20 miles in this condition). I get home and disconnected the battery for 20 mins. I test drive again and all the lights are gone, except for the battery light (battery is brand new tho! at this point the battery is only 1 month old). The car continued to run as normal for about 20-30 miles.

The next day, at idle or driving slow, the car feels like it wants to go (like if i were pressing the gas pedal a little bit, although i was actually pressing the break, it revs up to about 1500 RPM by itself. Now when the green light is on and i want to go, i step on the gas and for a second it almost feels like it is going to die and it pulls then it goes but slow like there is no power. there is no acceleration.

Has this happened to anybody's RX-8?

If your battery light remains lit, then it means that your alternator isn't charging your battery, and you are discharging the battery as you are driving. Can cause all sorts of problems from there. Get your alternator checked.

Have your CEL checked, my guess? It will show at least a misfire and/or the O2 sensor. Just as what RIWWP asked, how old are your plugs, wires, and ignition coils? In addition, year and mileage of the car. Take a look into this thread, as well: Starting Issues? START HERE.
