Starter problems
My 2005 RX-8 standard transmission car has always had problems starting. It always takes a couple seconds to finally turn over and the "service engine" light is forever on. I've tried new spark plugs, new batteries, and nothing has worked. Now today I unhooked my driver side sun visor because it was broken and took it out, undoing the wiring as well. As soon as I tried to start my car again it wouldn't turn over at all. I first had to turn the electrical components on first then wait then try starting it agian before it would go. As well to that now everytime I start my car my tripometer resets everytime and I am getting no power to my stereo or my keyless entry system. I checked the fuses and the battery but nothing seems to help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Check your grounding wires.
Remove bolt, clean off paint and corrosion and reconnect with some electrical grease on the surfaces to protect from corrosion. Do this for every grounding point you can find.
Do a search here for ground locations.
Once you are up and running again get the ODBII trouble codes read (Autozone for free in the USA) and we can help you to troubleshoot the rest.
