Starting issues 04 RX8
Hey there everyone.
The last few days i've been getting this problem with my 8 (youtube video below). I know there's starter motor issues with them, especially as this is the 04 model.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiKZs...ature=youtu.be
I just wanted to check that it's the starter motor before I shell out my limited monies
I had a battery check, and it's at 57%. Would a new battery solve the issue? (I plan to get a new battery anyway, but if the starter motor is knackered ill get that sorted first as i'm low on money.)
Anyway, I love my car and I just want it to be better! haha
Any ideas guys?
Also, if you reckon it is the starter motor, where do I buy one, and which one should I get?
Cheers!

Dude, you need BOTH.
are you in the states ? do u have an Advance Auto Parts nearby?
The cheapest way to do is, first thing first get their gold battery with the coupon, should come down to arond 70-80 bux with 3 yrs warranty.
then go Autozone and tell them u NEED a 2007 STARTER MANUAL TRANSMISSION STARTER
not 2004. remember that GET THE 2007+ year model.
Replace all of the above, disconnect battery before you remove your starter. return old core get money back. be happy.

You have the world's quietest camera microphone.
I had to crank the volume on my computer all the way up, with headphones on, in order to even hear your starter chugging away at the engine.
First thing you should do is remove and reconnect your battery connections, and your starter cable connection, as a corrosion covered connection will make things worse than they really are.
After than, you're on the verge of flooding your car with how slowly its cranking over the engine. A new starter is step one, but as nycgps said, you really do need both a starter and a battery.
BC.

Hey I have a simalar problem but its weird, need help
changed out the battery and terminal conectors,
had the starter checked,
pulled all fueses and tested all relays
and about every other day almost the car wont start, no power anywhere but if i jump it it will start first time.
some times i get power to the cluster and dome lights but as soon as i hit the clutch and turn key its dead again
I've been running thru the car with a voltmeter looking for shorts and checking condenuity thru all lines but nothing yet any help would be awsome thnks
