I don't know, I'm thinking i might off screwed something up, i read the instructions many times.
I will do it tomorrow again, i forgot to add electric grease to the plugs and boots. Does it make any difference? i don't know if the spark plugs were properly tight since my posture was really uncomfortable to installed them.

26/11/2015 Insurance runs out 11:57PM I have 1 day and no zzzzz
If you have the car towed to the dealer, you are going to get ripped off. Period. There is no other outcome possible. It might be a casual cheese grating of your wallet, it might be a full surrender of every last bit of cash and credit you have available.
How about you let us help you instead? We can help you figure out exactly what the problem is, and the costs will be limited to just replacing any parts needed, which you can do all yourself very easily.

So many have been helped in such a polite and professional manner within this thread and yep, you guessed it -
my '54 RX8 192PS is yet another I am without a shadow of a doubt flooded.
8AM UK time now the sun is up the day is beginning however I have not slept yet, up all day and all night I've read every single post on the thread, watched countless YouTube vids, and the result?
Earlier today I got it sounding from quick clicking to cranking but killed battery. By doing that 10sec gas crank slowly release gas method.
At one point a YouTube vid said disconnect Air (filter is it?)so I did that too.
One vid made me crank brake pedal 20 times in 8 seconds now my Bose radio says code and I've done the whole 6,mtuneauto,up (3511 code) it still says ERR.- that's my weeks workout done!
Followed through so many different links on this forum and I've read so much I need rest.
Until I found here that clearly says "don't try multiple Deflood methods - oops!"
To conclude, I have had my battery on charge (out of car in my garage) with correct charger. It's still on charge now.
I was planning on sleeping, going outside house to car when I get up, cleaning the metal that touches positive and negative on battery as set out in guide, cranking and then doing 10sec thing all whilst making video and if I don't get it started at least I can possibly get further help if I upload here.
Please reply, fellow proud Rex owner in need of advice!
Again, I've read A LOT this evening, I know the causes of flooding the solutions but the video will reveal all when i upload today!
Have a nice day guys!

I flooded mine once. It's been a long time, but what I did was to start out with a fully charged battery, (in the car) and made sure the terminals were clean and tight.
Be sure they are actually tight, as the terminals can stretch, allowing the bolts to be fully tightened, but the terminals can still be loose.
I had to shim mine.
Then, hook up the charger to the battery and turn it on.
I pulled the fuel pump fuse, and cranked it around 8-10 times for about 10 seconds with about a 30 second break in between to be sure I didn't overheat the starter.
Put the fuse back in, and it started on the second try.
Good luck!
*EDIT* If your battery died, there's a chance it's already bad.
You may want to get it checked if you're not sure it's good, as a weak battery contributes to flooding also.

Yeah I think my battery is the problem because the terminal is going over the positive but I can't tighten it its touching but not technically done properly.
Haven't attempted anything as of yet but I'm planning on charging a battery out of a Porsche which is unfortunately just a tad bigger than Rex's and having both full batteries hooked up whilst going through process.
Will keep updated thank you for your suggestions BigCajun!
Fuel pump fuse big blue one in like the bottom left of all relays, it's not coming out using hands kinda awkward!

I took it to the dealer and yes they charged me a lot of money, They said the fuel pump was bad and they had to replace it. i paid around 813.00 for the pump + installation. Let's se if the car runs smooth after they fix it.

RX8Faz. Please Check the fuel pump, i thought i had the same issue as you and it ended up being the pump. I change many things, Ignition system, Midpipe, Engine Starter, and now the fuel Pump.
Just keep me up to date and we can figure it out...

Anthony Kevin i understand your frustration, i have spent 3400.00 fixing my car and i know that the money i used replacing parts could have been invested in upgrades. If you car is giving you a hard time turning on the first thing to check is the battery terminals. Second is to clean the MAF Sensor. Third check the starter if it is spinning fast enough to turn on the engine. Lastly it could be the fuel pump. Please give me more details so i can help you to find the issue.

Very sorry about late replies I'm gonna upload video YouTube now, grandma in hospital really hectic life!
I managed to get someone from RAC to look, he advised to get a compression test and said it's not the battery or fuses and he didn't know what it was so only thing he can think is get a compression test.
I'm selling as non runner I don't deserve this headache.
I'm to blame I will admit it, I passed driving June 3rd at 22 years old a work colleague let it go cheap, '54 with 54k on clock I had it from 16th October and spent what I paid for the car in petrol.
Learning curve and it has made me more aware to research what I'm buying in regards to this type of purchase.
I will still post link for YouTube vid and maybe you might have come across same problem and might know exactly what's wrong time will tell!

A compression test will cost you as much, may be a little, more than a new battery. I tried going a few pages back to see your original post. Anyway, do you have an automatic or manual transmission? If you have a manual, try push starting the car, it usually works with both flooded and dead battery. If you do not want to purchase a new battery, have someone piggy back yours with theirs on their car(as though you could charge a dead one) to attempt and start your car. When I flooded my car four five years ago, it took at least an hour to get the car started, 15-20 minutes of it literally drained my 6 months old battery. So, if you are attempting to start the car, do it with another car's battery connected to yours.

That would be great...oh! but wait, then you'd have to implement a reading course to be taught..and a hand holding session..and lots of crayola crayons......good to see there is still some humor left here..

I have a 2004 mazda rx8 and I am wondering why I am pulling 15 volts from the OBD2? I had lost my keys and was having a set made The locksmith made the key and when he went to program it he said that my OBD2 was pulling 15 volts and he didn't know why. Would you happen to be able to help with this?

I can tell you it is a parasitic draw on power, but I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
Try the electrical threads, there may be more helpful info there.
Good luck!

I have a 04 rx8. I love the car but I am having issues that I can't get figured out. When starting the car sometimes it takes a few turns of the key to get it to start. I can be driving for miles or just a short drive and the car just shuts off. It takes a while to start back up. My car has 85,000 miles on it. I am frustrated because no matter if I drive a short distance or long distance it just decides to shut off. It doesn't idle rough or anything. It drives amazingly up until it just shuts off. Any ideas??

Stephanee, it could be many issues that you're describing, unfortunately. Like BigCajun said, it could be parasitic draw. You'll need to find the source, which I can't help you much with.
But it could also be:
Battery/ connections
Alternator
MAF sensor
Ignition system
Exhaust/ cat converter
Fuel delivery

EDIT: and please stop posting this question all over the forum. Your questions will be addressed, but it just takes time. What you're doing is considered spamming and could result in you getting banned from the club.
