Unhappy Starting problem

When I start my RX8 it will take a few seconds (longer than normal) to start. It always starts, but it takes longer than before. I've looked at it myself. Taken it to a few Mazda dealers, and they say they fixed the problem, but it's always the same. I really don't want to keep taking it to the Mazda dealer for them not to fix it. It may be something simple I'm overlooking. Anyone, had this problem or any ideas?
Thanks.

Since your join date on this site is 2003, guessing you might have an early vintage 8. If so, has the TSB for slow starts (upgraded starter & battery) been done yet?

If guess here doesn't apply, you might want to provide more info on your vehicle and some other details on the problem (such as slower starts when warm, cold, damp, etc).

Yes, I have a 2004. I know they did upgrades, but I need to look in my paperwork to see if they upgraded the TSB. Thanks for the tip. But it does the same thing regardless of the weather.

Do a compression check.

Yeah, I guess that's always one of the things that could be the problem, but I was hoping it was something more simple.

They installed the new starter and battery back in 2008. Next step is compression test...
