SC starting problem

I recently purchased a 2006 model rx8 automatic 6 speed. Everything has been great with the car up until last night. I drove it throughout the day going from place to place etc then came home. I got back into the car last night to go get something to eat and the car will not start. Everything on the inside works, lights, radio etc. the security symbol stays on and blinks also. I have tried various things and still have no results. Any help? I've had this rx8 less than a month.

get the battery tested for good measure. a car battery is more than capable of running interior lights and radio without having enough current to drive the starter motor successfully

Does it turn over? Did you try jumping it from another car? Did you do the deflood procedure? Did you try push starting it. I have used another vehicle with a pillow between the two and pushed it to get it started. This was when I flooded it bad, before all the upgrades.

I thought that if the battery wasn't a problem that jump starting wouldn't work? I am not sure on how to do the deflood procedure also. How can I push start I cannot get the car into neutral? The only thing it does when the key is turned is the lights and gauges come on and it clicks once. Sorry for the questions, new to the rx8.

you can't push/pull start an auto.

Did you test all of the connections to make sure they're secure? Is the battery in your key fob good?

I've tested everything that I can think of I have also tried the easier deflooding process. The engine will not even turn over, just the one click is that a sign of flooding or would it turn over but not crank? I have tried both of my keys, both work but the car still does the same.

If it is flooded it will turn over but not start. It also will have a different sound. If it isn't turning over it would be either starter or battery or key/ignition switch.

A good charge means nothing. When my battery went out it was still holding a solid 12.8-13.1v when off and 14 something when on but it would crap out sometimes. At least try jumping it and see if that works, if it does then drive to autozone or a similar place and get it tested. If it does not work then you at least ruled that out.

Thanks for all the input but I still have nothing. Looks like I am going to have to see a mechanic.

I had a similiar issue about a year ago, the car died while I was driving and wouldn't start. All of the lights woked but when you turned the key it wouldn't turn over. I took it the dealership and they found a loose wire under the fuse box.
