STEERING RACK issue
Hi everyone, new to forum, about to purchase a 05 rx8 with 60 000km on the engine, 136 on the body
the only mechanical issue it has is in the steering column, from what I understand its most likely the steering rack
Just wondering if any of you ever dealt with replacing this , how much the part can be found for (used or new) , and how much did the labor cost?
I live near Toronto, Ontario
getting the car for $4900!
any help is appreciated!
Thanks

is the Power Steering light on? if it is, you might wanna clean out the connectors to see if that works, do some research, im pretty sure youll be able to find the thread. its a quick 30 minute fix.

no it actually has a mechanical issue in the steering column... hard to explain, but most likely is the steering rack
when I turn the wheel all the way right/left while doing 5km/h , it will make a loud noise and car will just go forward instead left/right... also if I let go of the steering wheel, it will just turn itself all the way :S
so fcked up

the steering wheel turning by itself is a well known common issue with the connectors being dirty, as they sit right below the reservoir and right above the radiator exposing them to moisture and even rust. might wanna do that first, if the steering acts normal after that, your "loud noise" could be a different issue.
