Strange stalling behavior
Here's one for the books. My '04 with 55K miles runs great most of the time. On very hot days (>90) after the car has run 15 min. or so, it will stall as you clutch in. If I quick clutch start in 3rd, it will come right back on and idle rough. Usually I have to feather the throttle while stopped. Once it starts doing this, it seems flat on acceleration <3K rpms. The oddest thing was yesterday, I got caught with it stalling while stopped. It wouldn't restart, tried emergency flood start, nothing. A friend who had stopped, gave me a push and at very low rolling, 3mph it started right up. Later same day, ran fine. Drove it today, 95 degrees out for 45 miles and it was fine. On the return trip, at the end, it started stalling routine.
I have changed plugs, coils and wires. Cleaned TB, MAF and eccentric shaft connector. Car runs well if outside temp is <90.
Any ideas besides not driving on hot days?

It's not that strange, fairly common actually. Click the first link below the picture in my signature and learn how to search and you will find many, many threads on this subject.

Thanks. I have searched and read many of the threads, but the summary one you listed is very informative. It seems most point to compression or cat failure. Given the mileage, I don't think it is a compression problem, and if it was a cat failure (I have gotten the CEL from time to time, usually on long trips) then I would suspect it stalling more consistently.
The summary thread lists a 100K, 8 year warranty on the '04 engine. Is that correct?
