tail light water!

Well it rained like crazy the night before I was to take the car in to dry out the tailight. The tech took one look at all the condensed water in the light and said it would be impractical to dry it out. They ordered a new light and replaced it under warranty today.
What bothers me is that this may be a generic problem, possibly brought about by slamming the trunck down too hard (something my wife just loves to do). If it is generic, then it will likely happen again.

Yes, I believe this is one of the causes of this problem as the light fixture I had that collected condensation was also the one which previously had the contact issue covered by the TSB. A sample size of one, so its not statistically rigorous, but it is an odd coincidence.

After 30k miles and 8 straight days of rain, I noticed condensation on my passenger side taillight. My wife brought my car in today for the 30k service and told them about the condensation. She said the dealer didn't flinch and put in an order for new gaskets for both taillights.
Some dealers are jerks and some understand the value of good service. Luckily, my dealer (Weisleder in Brick, NJ) is one of the good ones.

Edit - Just looked at the paperwork, dealer order new tailight to replace the one with condensation and a new gasket for the other one, without condensation.

Same problem on my passenger side tail light. Dealer is going to replace the whole tail light. Until then I put a goldfish in there. Cats freak out when I drive by.

Just noticed a lot of condensation and water pooling in my driver's side tail light this morning. Guess I'll be taking it in to the dealer. Given that it's now cold here in Chicago, I don't anticipate it evaporting any time soon, so I should have sufficient evidence when I show.

I drove to work in a heavy rain storm and noticed condensation in my driver side tail light. went out the next morning to check it out. Not kidding, an inch of f'n water in my tail light. had to pull out the bulbs and cram paper towels through them to get the water out.
i am going to the dealer to have them fix it this week. thanks for reminding me.

Just had passenger side tail light assembly replaced Friday under warranty. Dealer just wanted to see it first to confirm that it hadn't been damaged in a wreck. In and out in 30 minutes.

My pass. side tail light has had condensation in it for over a month. Took it to two dealerships and both told me it is normal and that they would not replace it.

Going to dealer tomorrow. Half inch of standing water in my driver side tail light again. This is crap. I hate stuff like this. The service manager at my dealership is a total A-hole to.

I first had water in my driver’s side tail light so I paid a place to change it and I got a new one, but now I noticed that I have water in my passenger side tail light! And apparently I'm not the only one with a little spider in my tail light, he even made a tiny web.

I called a third dealership today and they put my new tail light on order. They said it should be in this week. I just can't believe it took me three dealerships to finally get this fixed.
