Tail lights.

I know it's been addressed, but I couldn't seem to find the actual answer. So my brake lights work fine, but my other tail lights usually don't work. When I flip my head lights on, some times the light on the dash comes on. When it does, my tail lights work. When it doesn't, they do not. Head lights always work. I've been reading that the ABS and traction control lights may interconnect, as mine are on as well. I've changed out all fuses I thought to be the ones with no luck. Maybe it's the wrong fuse? I hear a clicking in the fuse box when I try to turn on the lights.

"When I flip my head lights on, some times the light on the dash comes on. "

What do you mean by "the light on the dash"?

There are dozens of different lights that may light up on the dash... I think you are talking about the backlit gauge lights. But then what is the reference to ABS and TCS lights?

Sounds like a relay might be failing. A fuse would be always broken, not intermittent.

The light that comes on is the green indicator light that's telling me my headlights are on. When that light comes on, the tail lights work, as well as the lights on the steering wheel. And the ABS/TCS were only mentioned because they are also on, and when I was researching this problem on here people said that tail lights can some times be connected to this.

As I'm not to car savvy, would you point me in the direction of finding relays? Or how to check them? I would appreciate it. I don't want to pay another $92 to get it checked out by the mazda dealer.

Check the wiring to the third brake light. I had a similar problem the wires were broken and shorting the fuse. Kept blowing the 'stop' fuse under the hood.

Yep, wires are on the drivers side going from the fender to the trunk lid.
