in my experience that position on the gauge, while abnormal, is not a failed engine issue

when it goes to the far right and stays there then you have a major problem

This is my only car and I work full time and go to school full time, so yes I need it. Im not driving the car around expecting for the problem to go away.. I do check my coolant level everyday and its fine, I spent time in traffic everyday and the temperature does not move, the engine runs perfectly fine, it only does it when I stay on high rpms for long.. I'll do the pressure test this week

so today i changed the thermostat and flushed the radiator. I havent test the car yet so i dont know if the temperature problem got fix yet, but i did found something that i dont like from the flush. I flushed it twice and both times this white shavings came out of the radiator..

Looks like scale buildup.....could be from using hard water instead of distilled in the coolant

Flush it out well and see how it is. If there is a lot of it you might want to have your Radiator backflushed

So I have fully test the car, I drove it hard and temperature does not move! Finally.. Now I just need a new coolant reservoir and I will start doing some things here and there for better cooling..
