Testing ignition coils?

is there any way of testing our coils to see if they have failed? i know that you can use an ohm meter to test some of the older ones, but does this apply with ours?

With a meter you are testing the coil windings for shorts.
Can you test for this... yes.
But if a coil is dieing and producing weak spark, you'll likely still read resistance on the coil.
Now if the igniter is bad... there is nothing (that I can easily think of) to bench test that, and unfortunately, its a likely component to fail.

Best way is to use a timing light to gauge against the other coils and see if one is weaker or more inconsistent than the others
