ticking noise coasting in neutral
I noticed a noise the first time the other day, i had the radio turned off..
it's somewhat difficult to explain but here's my best try: a ticking/knocking noise thats frequency is directly proportional to the speed at which I'm coasting. I don't notice it while going over 40mph mainly due to road noise I suspect. Also, I feel the ticks/vibration through the shift ****. I'm thinking this means something with the Transmission or a universal joint?
The goofy thing is that it doesn't happen while accelerating/decelerating in gear only while the clutch is engaged or in neutral.
any ideas?????
oh yeah i've got an 04 with 72,000 miles
