Tien basic coilovers
Hello everyone.
I got this Tien basic coilovers installed for about 3 or 4 weeks and now it makes a strange noise sometimes on the rear. I took my rx to firestone for a general inspection. They said that the springs are kinda loose on the rear and that the noise comes from the struts. The guy said that to erase the noise i must replace the struts and from the factory (mazda) it's about $1400...No way i wanna pay for that...My friend that installed the Tien coilovers said that it's normal for cars with aftermarket suspension. That noise is not normal and i'm concern with my security driving..
If i have to replace the struts do u know where can i get them cheaper?
Do u know how can i fix this?
Is it a problem with adjusting the coilovers?
Please help. Thank you for the attention.

Could be where the springs set on the coil. Read this about the guy that did his Tanabes.

His problem is different than mine. When i drive through bumps there's no noise..only when i hit the brake i hear that noise coming from the rear..it doesnt seems to be a problem from the brake though..it is from the suspension..thanks though

Oh this was the post I was talking about in his thread:

But if thats not it then you could have a issue with the ABS system.
I too would get a thump sound when I would start my car (wait till its warm) and drive off. With in the first 5 foot roll I would hear a thump. Like my brake pads where hung up or sticking. I searched on here and found a lot of other people had the same issue. Some say its the pads. Some say its the ABS system. Could be sence you say it happens when you hit the brakes.
How ever based on what you said in your first post: the shop you went to is telling you to use oem/factory struts ? uhh ok. And why are your springs kinda loose?
I would check all the bolts there where removed to insure they are on tight.
Did you get them used? they may be no good if the og owner was banging them out on the track or drift. They might need to be rebuilt.
Just a thought.
