First, make sure the paint code on the touchup paint matches your paint code on the door sticker. If it does then proceed to step two. If not, take it back to the dealer and get the right paint.
Second, if it does, make sure you shake the paint up really really well. The metallic specs in the paint all settle to the bottom when it sits for a while. Seriously, shake the crap out of the paint for like 3-4 minutes and makes sure it is mixed really well.
Third. Test in a inconspicuous area, like inside your trunk on the bare metal.
Fourth, if it matches, THEN paint the exterior parts that need touched up.
Also make sure the area you are painting is clean and free of debris.

Also, if it is chipped past the primer (its happened on a few spots on my bumper) it wont really match, since you wont be putting the touch up paint over the same color that the rest of the paint is on (eg: wwp over black plastic wont look the same as the paint over grey primer)

Nope the paint code is correct... I believe the paint is from '05 it came with the car it could just be time to get some new paint... It dried silverish even on the parts of the car where the chips hadn't gone through the primer
