transmission issue....

just got my car back from bein in an accident heres the low down on what happened, they had to replace my harmonic balancer pulley, to do that they had to pull my motor out, n now it takes 3-4 times the effort to put the shifter in gear, sometimes reverse takes me several attempts in order to put it in reverse n see it fights me in every gear havin to give it a little more force to put it in..........anyone have any similar situations happen, or know of a good place to start lookin, bein that we dont have a traditional clutch fluid reservoir..... any insight would be appreciated. please keep the rude remarks to a minimum.
thanx

yea thats what i was told by mazda....unless they dont know what the fu*k there talkin about??? basically i guess its the eccentric shaft pulley or a crank pulley on a piston motor.... i guess on the accident when i crashed the pulley smacked into the rack and pinion, when it did that it frayed my belt.. afterwards

Most mechanics use the term harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley interchangably, since they are usually the same thing.

It sounds like they might have messed up your transmission to engine alignment or gotten some debris in the pilot bearing or between the clutch disk and flywheel.

Even worse, though, and probably more likely, is that the impact to the pulley damaged the eccentric shaft thrust bearing and there is now too much endplay in the shaft, which causes problems with the clutch. Have them check the thrust bearing.

thanx for the advice corners..... i had mazda check it n the clutch is toast with the clutch pedal to the floor, i let up maybe an inch or two n it already wants to go, n saw clutch n flywheel as it is, theres an excessive amount of heat scored on the flywheel n clutch, i dunno if the flywheel can be machined...thats why i ended up buyin a new clutch, got myself a clutchmasters stage 1 clutch, hopefully i can keep that ACT flywheel becuz i only got about 15k miles on it....hopefully not about too much endplay in the shaft n didnt damage the thrust bearing.

They pulled your motor to replace a pulley? Nice.

Ask them what method they used to align your PPF.

How much did they charge you for every nasty replacement you got to do? Or did you spend anything for that incident?
