Transmission Replaced and Same issues

Transmission Replaced and Same issues
So here are the symptoms. Started at about 25k and now I'm at 37k has been getting louder and louder as time goes on.
If car is parked there is a sounds like worn bearings. (kinda ruff rotation sound)
If the shifter is neutral = noise
If the shifter is pushed towards the right = louder noise
If shifter is pushed to the left = noise disappears
If the car is being driven the easiest way to hear the sound is to cruise at 50 to 80.
If at this speed and in neutral you cant hear anything (road noise drowns it out)
Move the Shifter to 6th and the sounds is like a small bell being constantly rung (bearing jingly noise)
Move shifter to 5th sound disappears.
Move shifter to 4th sound comes right back.
You can hear the sound at other speeds but these are the noises at regular operation.
So I bring to the dealer and they replace a bunch of parts and test. No go. They rebuild my transmission. No go. They replace with a brand new factory transmission and 22 days later I pick up my car... Guess what sound is still there!!!
I bring it back and tell them the noise is still there. They take it in. Have the car 5 days and replace engine mount bushings (rubber things). (I told them they were stupid but let them do it anyways.
Pick car up. Same noise. Tell them its still there and they tell me its not a new car and they can replace all the parts in the car and its not going to make the noise go away.... I argue for awhile and leave pissed off.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do? I have an 04 MT 36k on the car with now a brand new transmission. Has anyone else had this sound? Any tech people have any ideas on what it could be?
Any advice or questions you have would be appreciated cause I have searched all the transmission sound / other sound articles on here and can't find any matching issue. I have 2 months before my warrenty expires and I need to get this fixed or MNAO is going to have me bend over and take it.

I have been the owner of the car for the 4 years and all 36k miles of the car. I know what the sound of the car is suppose to be. I also have a friend with the same 04 MT as me with 3k more miles and he does not have the same sound.
Anyone else?
Anyone else?

Never heard of that before...my '04 makes some noise but I expect nothing less. My thing is I can't believe there are '04s out there with so few miles on them. This car, I mean this motor, was not meant to sit around...
I don't know what to tell you man...

This is my daily driver so it never gets to just sit around : ) It just happens that my work has always been within 14 miles. The only time it gets to stretch its legs is going up north on the weekends which is about 240 miles there and back.

My first question was which shifter do you have because the Axial Flow amplifies the sound of any noise that comes through the transmission.
This is a stock shifter. I do have a good known working stock shifter if you want to try that.
It would be quite sad if it was a defective shifter that caused a transmission replacement...
Hmmm one thing I did notice when my transmission was replaced was they put the interior together in a terrible way. Panels not lined up toward the front of the console. Shifter so tight a person has to take a pipe wrench to loosen it up.
I hope they did a better job putting your interior back together as they did mine. The few times I have been in there for interior items I have to take the console apart and put it back together because they do a poor job putting it back together.
What time do you work till Iceis? If you want we could go for a ride.

They put the interior back together alright... I haven't noticed any gaps or overlaps or anything like that.
The shifter is stock and and the thing shifts like a dream. (little clunky noise but its a brand new transmission its kinda expected) This sound has been before and after the transmission replacement so everything in the transmission has to be ok.
I'm not very technical but it has to be something in the link to the drive shaft or the mesh from the motor to the trans... I think I'm going to take it to a second dealer for another once over and second opinion. ( i just hate being without my car )
I also just noticed the that bent the **** out of my sunroof rails. (had them work on it for another issue) and apparently to get rid of the looseness / rattling it means let's **** on it with some pliers and a rubber mallet...

I have a similar issue.
- When I shift from 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th, I hear a bearing jingly noise.
- When cruising at around 4k to 5K RPMS, I get a constant noise. Kinda like ruff rotation of the bearing. (Almost like there are small fragments of metal floating around inside)
- Take this over 7K RPM after 30 min non stop driving and you can hear loud noise of the bearing/metal fragments banding against the inside walls of the transmission.
- Drive it more than 1hr min non stop and it feels like my car is going to stall doing a stop and go.
- Drive this more than 30 min and if you tilt the sunroof, I smell burning oil/grease
All this occurs now after the transmission was overhauled by a dealership in Ottawa, Canada. I took it for a small check up on why 6th gear was making a metal on metal rubbing noise and come out with a broken transmission.
The dealer ship worked on it for 3 times and rebuilding it each time and it keeps getting worse.
Unfortunately I had to move to Mississauga and I found out that the Ottawa dealership went out of business and they closed. So I was forced to take it to the dealership in Mississauga.
The dealership here is even more retarded. They say that its normal characteristics of a used Rx8 since they test drove a used one from their lot and it make the same gear noises. They did not even address the other issues I have listed above. They are now refusing to work on my car and the mechanic says there is noting more he can do.
I am going to take it to another dealership and get their input on it and hopefully they fix it. If not I am going to have to say bye bye to the Rx8 and trade it in for another ride
Have you had any progress with your ride?
Can anyone advice me on what I should do next? I am running out of ideas and I am tired of dealing with Mazda Canada and dealerships here. I really hate to let my 8 go.

I never told the techs they are stupid... I let them work and kept hoping that they would fix it.
The second and 3rd dealerships that I took it to said that the 1st dealership may have messed up the installation. Here in Mississauga the dealership is looking into the cause of the issues. Its going to take another 3 weeks before they discuss with the regional manager and get the work approved.
