Trip meter problem. I'm stumped.
Last week I took the minus connection off the battery so I could clean up and paint the battery hold down. That reset the trip meter to 0 and also turned off DSC when the car was started the first time.
I've been resetting the trip meter when I fill up with gas. No luck yesterday. The trip meter wouldn't reset and holding it down longer didn't get a "B" trip meter, but instead got another "A" with the same trip miles, but with a different and much higher odometer amount.
This morning I tried to run the diagnostic test several times as outlined here:

"Test" never came up.

I know this sounds stupid, but I have to ask. Are you pressing the right or left button?
Left button does nothing but change the speedometer and odometer to read in kilometers. That would be the much higher mileage you saw. Hold it again to switch back. Right button changes between trip meters A and B and when held down will reset the trip meter that is currently showing.
